This is a software application that plays different sounds as you set up a print job. The most rewarding sounds are reserved for the situation when you cancel a print job - thus encouraging you not to print.
Ink Factory Print Saver plays different sound effects when you are trying to set up a print job or actually taking a print. When configuring your print job, you`ll hear the sound of a chainsaw revving up and idling. This is the sound effect simulating the situation when a chain saw is ready to cut into a tree. If you continue to actually take out a print, the sound effect changes to that of trees falling. If you cancel the job and come out without actually taking a print you are treated to bird song. That is a reward for not contributing to tree felling.
I am not too sure how effective this could be but, it should sensitize the user to the fact that whenever he/she uses papers there are some trees that are getting sacrificed. Print Saver encourages the users to think about printing and the resources it uses, not just the financial cost. These sound effects start up as soon as you open the print dialog box. The corresponding sound will keep playing as long as the printing is going on or the dialog is open. The sound quality is good and is a nice, fun way to keep you aware of the consequential effects of your getting a few pages printed.
